Dr. Camilo R. Van Strahlen is an Otolaryngologist specialized in functional, aesthetic and reconstructive rhinoplasty. For him, nasal functionality and aesthetics are an indivisible unit. Dr. Van Strahlen approaches each case in a personalized manner and tailors each result to the features and preferences of each of his patients. As a specialist in Otolaryngology and Rhinology, Dr. Van Strahlen combines his deep knowledge of nasal anatomy with precision surgical techniques to perform rhinoplasties that not only seek to improve the appearance of the nose, but also to improve breathing in cases of nasal obstruction, correction of septal deviations and treatment of nasal polyps. His expertise in functional rhinoplasty allows him to address both aesthetics and functionality, always adapting his interventions to the individual needs of each patient.

Education and career

Dr. Camilo R. Van Strahlen obtained his medical degree at the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, followed by his MIR training in Otolaryngology at the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau. He undertook specific training in Rhinoplasty in Colombia under the guidance of Dr. Pedraza. Subsequently he continued his training in Rhinoplasty with great referents in Spain and Europe. He is completing a doctorate in Medicine and Surgery at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.

He currently works at the Hospital Clínic de Barcelona in the Rhinology and Skull Base unit, performing complex nasal reconstruction cases and has extensive experience in aesthetic and/or functional rhinoplasty. He also works at Clínica Sagrada Família leading the Rhinology practice performing rhinoplasty, nasal breathing and sinus surgery, as well as septal perforation closure.

Scientific Contributions and Academic Commitment

He is director and professor of the course of Oculofacial Plastic Surgery and Orbital Surgery and participates as a professor in courses of Endoscopic Nasal Surgery. Throughout his career, he has taken multiple advanced specialization courses in rhinology, skull base surgery and facial plastic surgery.
