Teeth Whitening: Achieve a radiant white smile

Why does the color of your teeth change and what can you do to fix it?

Even if you brush meticulously every day and visit the dentist regularly, the color of your teeth will change due to genetic factors and it is difficult to obtain a perfect smile. In addition to the natural shade, pigmented habits and foods such as coffee, red wine, certain spices, and tobacco can stain tooth enamel over the years.
However, nowadays there are several dental treatments and whitening techniques that allow to lighten several shades, taking care of the dental structure. From professional in-clinic treatments to at-home kits, there are options for all tastes and needs. From professional in-clinic treatments to at-home kits, there are options for all tastes and needs.

What you should know about treatment

What is teeth whitening?

Teeth whitening is one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in dentistry today, sought after intensely by those who wish to improve the aesthetics of their smile. This treatment is not only effective in removing blemishes and discolorations, but it is also safe and affordable, making more people opt for it to rejuvenate their appearance.

Why choose Turó Park Aesthetic for your teeth whitening?

At Turó Park Aesthetic, our cosmetic dentistry experts offer teeth whitening treatments with innovating technology. In a single session, it is possible to improve several shades, leaving you with a radiant smile.

Different teeth whitening treatments

During professional teeth whitening, the dentist will begin by performing a complete oral examination to verify the absence of contraindications for whitening, such as uncared-for cavities, devitalized teeth, weak enamel, etc. It will then perform a scaling so that the whitening gel can act homogeneously and then determine your reference color so that you can choose the concentration of the whitening agent.

Once the preliminary step is completed, the dentist will protect your gums and all the mucous membranes in your mouth and then apply the whitening product to your teeth. He will then place a UV lamp or laser in front of your mouth for a certain period (usually 45 to 60 minutes) until the desired color is achieved.

The results of teeth whitening at the dentist are immediate, but it is important to know that it only lasts from one to two years, depending on the patient’s dental hygiene. To maintain white teeth in the long term, it will be necessary to repeat the operation or opt for a permanent solution such as dental veneers.

In addition to in-office teeth whitening, many dentists offer an outpatient alternative. This method includes a customized splint and a whitening gel that the patient uses at home. The advantage is that it combines professional guidance with the convenience of performing the treatment in your own home.

Teeth whitening kits, popular because they are inexpensive and convenient, include a dental tray, whitening gel, sometimes a UV lamp, and a color chart to monitor progress. Although they offer convenience, their efficacy is limited due to the lower concentration of bleach compared to professional treatments, and it is always recommended to consult a dentist before use.

At Turó Park Aesthetic, we are committed to your well-being before, during, and after the procedure, ensuring professionalism not only in the treatment but also on the road to recovery.

Treatment Information

Tooth whitening step-by-step

The dentist begins with a complete oral examination to ensure that there are no contraindications such as cavities or weakened enamel. Descaling is performed to even out the tooth surface and the current tooth shade is determined in order to select the appropriate concentration of the bleaching agent.

The gums and mucous membranes are protected before applying the whitening gel to the teeth. The teeth are then exposed to a UV lamp or laser for 45 to 60 minutes to achieve the desired shade.

Although the results are immediate, the duration of the effect varies from one to two years depending on the dental care. To preserve whiteness, it may be necessary to repeat the treatment or consider permanent options such as dental veneers.

Jaime Guinovart is an amazing dentist. After an accident I damaged my front teeth when I was young. I have seen so many dentists in the last two years that I have built up a lot of fear. Jaime helped me with so much patience that my fear is completely gone. And the result of the cosmetic changes are super natural and perfect! Thank you Jaime.
