Treatments for dark circles under the eyes: Say goodbye to a tired look in your eyes.
What are dark circles and how to remove them?
Dark circle treatment helps rejuvenate the look, treating dark shadows under the eyes caused by factors such as genetics, aging, or lack of sleep. There are several methods of aesthetic medicine for this condition. From creams to surgical procedures, which improve the pigmentation and texture of the subocular skin.
Having a treatment to remove dark circles under the eyes significantly improves the appearance, giving a more rested and alert look, which increases self-esteem and confidence. Benefits include long-lasting results that reduce dependence on makeup, making it essential for people who value a well-groomed image.
Types of dark circles under the eyes and how they appear
There are several types of dark circles under the eyes, each with characteristics that require specific treatments.
Dark circles under the eyes have a purplish or veiny color. They are generally of constitutional and hereditary origin. This type of dark circle is due to the thinness of the lower eyelid skin, which makes the blood pigments under the dermis visible. When dark circles under the eyes are brown, they may be related to hyperpigmentation of the skin, almost always of ethnic origin.
The hollow circles correspond to a loss of volume in the palpebral-juice fold. This loss of volume is in most cases due to the natural aging process, but fatigue and genetic predisposition can also contribute to it.
Dark circles under the eyes give the face an aged and tired appearance.
Full or puffy dark circles are due to the presence of bags under the eyes. Specifically, the lower eyelids are “full” because the fat of the eye is blocked and permanently stretches the skin of the lower eyelid. Dark circles under the eyes should not be confused with bags under the eyes that appear in the morning upon awakening. In the case of eye bags, it is the fact of lying down for many hours that causes an accumulation of lymph during the night. This phenomenon disappears shortly after waking up.
How do dark circles under the eyes appear?
Each type of dark circle is due to a different phenomenon:
- In the case of dark circles under the eyes, there is usually a hereditary or ethnic explanation.
- In the case of dark circles under the eyes, aging and fatigue are often the culprits.
- In the case of puffy dark circles under the eyes, aging, certain hormonal changes or excessive salt intake may be aggravating factors.

Different treatments for dark circles
Many cosmetics promise to eradicate dark circles under the eyes, but in reality, their effect is often limited. If you are looking for an effective way to eliminate dark circles under the eyes, aesthetic medicine offers different solutions depending on the type of dark circles under the eyes.
Hyaluronic acid is a natural substance in the human body. It has multiple functions in the body and, in particular, in the skin, which it ensures firmness and hydration. To fight dark circles under the eyes, it is possible to use hyaluronic acid injections to give the lower eyelid a fuller appearance, thus avoiding the demarcation between the eyelid and the upper part of the cheekbone, which gives a tired and sad look. The injection session lasts about 20 minutes and results are immediately visible. It is advisable to repeat the treatment every one or two years.
When dark circles under the eyes are due to hyperpigmentation, and in particular for skin of ethnic origin, a depigmenting peel may be of interest to stimulate the cells of the dermis and epidermis to boost collagen production.
A session lasts an average of 45 minutes.
Laser is the most suitable method for dark circles under the eyes because it will act on the origin of the pigmentation of the lower eyelid skin.
This treatment consists of the destruction of the pigment using the pigment laser. Thus, the difference in color between the skin of the entire face and the dark circles under the eyes will be less obvious.
Dark circles surgery treats the lower eyelid to reduce or even eradicate dark circles under the eyes. This surgery is called lower blepharoplasty and we are fortunate to have one of the leading specialists in this procedure at Turó Park Aesthetic. Learn more about blepharoplasty.

Very pleased with Dr. Lloyd Nanhekhan and his staff. Highly recommended. I have seen more than 10 specialists in Barcelona but he is the only one I could trust and always will. He focuses on his patients and best practices from the medical perspective not the sales perspective.

I have done PRP 3 times with Dr. Martin and it has been great. The first time I tried prp with him, I wanted to continue more times with him because he has a very good hand. He pricked me carefully so that I would not get pain (it is not painful) explaining about the prp treatment. I highly recommend him for your first treatment at turo clinic. You would do the same as me to repeat it with him afterwards!!!
